Mures county represents even today in the area of folk culture from Transylvania a very rich and diversified region, precisely through the confluence of some important ethno-folkloric sub-regions - the Superior Mures, the Gurghiu Valley, the Plain, the Tirnave - and through the colour given by the living together in these parts of Romanians, Hungarians, Germans and Gypsies.

In many of our villages, depositaries by excellence of the treasures of folk culture, folklore and traditions still represent living realities, offering to whom goes down in the precincts of such a village, at the right moment, the ethereal image of an ancient world that still pulsates to the ancestral rhythms and laws.

Whether it is about folk dances, songs, costumes, customs or ancient occupations that are part of folk or handcraft art, respect for these values and the conscience of the fact that they are part of a world that must not perish, or even represents that is specific to us, have to be taken to the meeting with the other nations.
